It was a regular Saturday afternoon for us. We had spent most of the day in Gymboree. He was in a happy-happy-joy-joy mood, more so when The Painter popped in at the center. He never goes, so Basti was so excited to see him.
Until. (Insert ominous music here)
I’ve been cutting Basti’s hair since he was 4 months old. We figured it was time he got a real haircut.
He seemed ok.
Being in his daddy’s arms did the trick. it was done and over with in a few minutes.
We figured he deserved some playtime with his cousins and a visit to Lola’s house (a.k.a. Let’s go grab some grub at my mom’s because I’m too lazy to cook and her food is so much better)
I hope the next time won’t be as scary. Great job, Basti!
It was a nice day for a baby shower, inspite of Typhoon Quiel raging away in the North. My friend Kakai picked us up and we headed over to our friend Joanna’s house for Basti’s Ninang Carina’s baby shower.
Great centerpiece and cool giveaways from Swell Sweets and Human Nature.
Yummy, yummy food by Il Ponticello.
And it was wonderful catching up with my girlfriends. It was such a nice laid-back, rainy day.
Carina’s stepson Al came along to take over Daddy Vic’s place because he’s watching UAAP.
So when does Scary Saturday come in, you ask? Well, Al was texting and he said, “My friend Vicki is coming.”
Um, he was referring to this Vicki.
She walked in while I was stuffing my face with Gel’s brownies.
That’s the scary part.
I bet she was going, “Now there’s someone who can benefit from BodyTite.”
What’s not scary is she was so nice. But it really was sort of a Twilight Zone-slash-Punked-slash-Wow Mali-moment. I was looking for the hidden cameras.

For today’s Scary Saturday I have two things that will strike fear into your hearts.
The minute I saw this on the shelf of Hypermart I got flashbacks of my 80s self and her love affair with hairspray.
This next Scary Saturday item turns the toughest of knees to jello:
I will get no sleep till Basti is better. Sigh.
I see a lot of bloggers who these themed-post days for entries. There’s stuff like Foodie Friday and Family Friday, Sunday Specials, whatever. Well, I’m going to be gaya-gaya and do my own. I’m doing Scary Saturdays. Every
time I feel like it Saturday, I’ll try and post something that scared me.
Today’s Scary Saturday item is in line with my search for more educational apps for Basti’s iPad time. I was looking for English flashcards because Basti responds more to Chinese than English or Filipino because he is obsessed with this app I have.
So I download this English flashcard app and this is the crap they show my son:
Fear Factor: SHOKOT LEVELS. (Shokot = takot = fear/afraid in Bekinese) P.S. I haven’t seen Zombadings. Have you?
